RedBus is an Indian online bus ticketing platform, providing ticket booking facilities through its website and iOS and Android 
mobile apps. It is headquartered in Bangalore and works like a hub, acting as a medium for a network of more than 2000 bus operators,
across the countries of India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Peru, and Colombia. It claims to have registered over 180 million trips,with a customer base of over 20 million.In 2018, the company achieved a GMV of ₹50billion (equivalent to ₹57 billion or US$710 million in 2020), with a 70% share in the Indian online bus ticketing segment.



History:

redBus was founded in 2006 by Phanindra Sama,[6] Sudhakar Pasupunuri and Charan Padmaraju, engineers from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science ,[7] who also worked together at various organisations before founding the company. With an initial investment of ₹500,000 (equivalent to ₹1.4 million or US$17,000 in 2020), the founders began operations in 2006, by tying up with various travel agents for seat reservations through the redBus portal. In the same year the company was selected for the TiE Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program and was mentored on several aspects of the business.[8] The company owns BOGDS, a cloud computing service for bus operators, and SeatSeller, a GDS for bus inventory distribution.

Prakash Sangam, CEO
Prakash Sangam has been Chief Executive Officer of redBus since June 2014. Prior to redBus. He served as an Executive Vice President of Info Edge India (Naukri group), heading two group businesses namely Shiksha.com and Jeevansathi.com. He’s also worked as General Manager of Marketing and Innovation at Airtel and has also had multiple roles across Marketing, Brand Management and Sales at Hindustan Unilever. Prakash has completed his MBA from IIM Calcutta and also holds an Honours degree in Production Engineering from Mumbai University.



Anoop Menon, CTO
Anoop Menon serves as Chief Technology Officer at redBus. Anoop plays an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth. At redBus, he leads effective delivery of scalable systems to the customers, agents and bus operators by incorporating the latest technology. A tech enthusiast, Anoop comes with over 18 years of extensive experience in building scalable and high-performing products across telecom, internet and mobile ecommerce domains. Anoop strongly believes that hard work and commitment can overcome the barriers to success. He completed BE in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University and loves sports, movies, TV and music.
